| That entirely depends on how much fat you have on your abdomen. Losing more than 2 pounds a week is generally either water or muscle mass (which isn't what you want) so if you lost 2 pounds a week for four months then you would have lost 32 pounds. If that's how much weight is hiding your abdominal muscles then yes, it's totally possible in four months. Cardio is the fastest way to burn calories so get running!

A common goal for people losing weight is to get a six pack. If you are already dieting and working out, you may very well have a good set of abs muscles. Especially if you are doing high intensity aerobics that include "core" workouts. The problem probably is that you, like I, still have a good portion of fat on the tummy. You are not going to see any ab definition until you loose the spare tire. When you tighten your stomach, and then poke it, do you feel something hard below the bulge? Then your abs are there, you just have to loose a few more pounds for them to really pop. After they start to show, then you should focus on real hardcore core exercises and massive amounts of crunches.
Hope that helps.

I agree high intensity workouts seem to best way to get that six pack to show. The more fat that you’re burning the more those hidden abdominal muscles will come thru. I’m not a big fan of regular sit-ups, although I do find myself doing a few sets with some resistance just to build some strength, even though I don’t believe that the sit-ups really helps to get the definition/ cuts. Also, don’t underestimate the importance of core strengthening when working on your six pack. The oblique muscles will show a bit more with some core building/strengthening and fat lose. Working the hip flexors will help get that lower portion of the abs that most people seem to forget about. For me pull-ups with a really high knee raise at the top have really put some nice lean meat on my abs (I’m a beast on the pull-up bar). Again, “HIGH INTENSITY” shorter workouts work best, but you’ve gotta keep moving. Get the heart rate "High" and keep it there for a set time. As long as you’re pulling something, pushing something and sweating you’ll be fine. Don’t get wrapped up in the repetition and lbs (that’s old school thinking). Go for a time or distance this type of training is also proven to continue burning calories anywhaere from 4-8 hours after the workout is finished. It will also make progress easier to see… good luck “B”
