I love the fact that everyone on this site is at different places and all are trying to achive a goal although none of the goals are the same but all have one thing in common, getting health and fit to some degree.

I myself have always been active and have never really had a problem with weight.  BUT my goal is

Short term

----back to where i can play a full soccer game without sucking wind

-----Pressing my body weight

Long term

---11% body fat at ~185 lbs

-----half iron man

Hey all, I personally just started training for a triathlon. I'm setting a 2-hour goal for swimming 1.5 miles, biking 15 miles and running 3.1 miles. I've never done one before, so I've set a time goal of getting myself in the top 100 of a 150-person field. Obviously, I'd like to crush that.

I hit 29 and found myself in a depressive, idle state of non-being.  I once an active young girl with dreams of athletic stardom.  I've always been a hard worker and found when I was keeping busy my body kept fit.  Unfortunately for the last 8 months I found myself on the "unenjoyment" list and felt the depression and isolation was consuming my self-motivating qualities.

My athletic, dancer body was literally falling to the floor.  I am not sure if it was the fact that I hated to look in the mirror or the fact that I hated the person that couldn't look in the mirror that finally threw the rock that shattered it.  Enough was enough and I set in my head a simple goal last week...  " Walk! Put one foot in front of the other, Sara. How hard is that? Get dressed and get stepping! And don't stop for a day. Don't you dare stop."

So everyday this week, I've gotten up, gotten dressed and put one foot forward then the next all the way to my front door. I turned the knob and stepped out of the isolation into a world so alive. A world where I could draw from and feel alive once again. I'll walk again tomorrow once again.

Hello,
I'm a recently retired college athlete and I want to make sure I stay on top of my fitness. I played soccer all my life and swam so I've always been really active but now that I don't have a coach in my face telling me what to do, pushing myself to my limits isn't happening. My goals are to drop 25lbs and keep my fitness.
My biggest issue is food quantity. I know I can't eat as much I used when I was in season but I'm not adjust as quickly as I hoped.
So yeah, those are my two main goals.
Good luck to everyone else!

I'm 28 almost 29 and never had to work much to stay "fit-looking". Well that sort of stopped around 25 and now I've got 3+ years of bad habits to repair

Since I've always enjoyed weights, I purchased a book called "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" and I'm going to follow it. No, I'm not hawking the book, as I obviously don't know how it'll turn out for me yet. I enjoyed reading it and we'll see how the implementation goes Grats to anyone who is determined to put that first foot forward, as an above poster stated!

Tired of sucking in my tummy

It's fun to see where everyone's at, and I love that people here are focusing on fitness and not just weight loss!

My goals:
* lose 20 pounds to get slightly below my pre-pregnancy weight
* get back into my pre-pregnancy clothes
* running six miles per day on the treadmill during the week
* lifting/climbing a few times a week - would like to be able to leg-press my weight and have impressive biceps again
* strength training in lower back to alleviate back pain
* drink more water/stay better hydrated

This said, a non-fitness goal of mine is to get pregnant again by the end of the year, so I have a lot of work to do before then!

i just finished my first year in college, and the "Freshman 15" slowly tuned into the "Freshman 30" for me. I looked at my pictures from my senior year in high school and I knew that changes had to be made.

I really enjoy swimming, but I look horrible in a swimsuit- I can't even fit into the ones I bought last summer  so my first goal includes toning up and losing 13 pounds in about a month (my reccommended target date is August 5th)

At the end of my freshman year,  I began working out and running/jogging about a mile 3 days a week. I'm going to take pilates along with cardio exercises, running, jogging, and when I slimdown enough to feel comfortable in a swimsuit, I plan on swimmingand joining anaquafit class.

Good luck and best wishes to everyone on reaching their goals!
