| http://www.healthrecipes.com/avocado_information.htm Avocados have a fat content of between 71 to 88% of their total calories - about 20 times the average for other fruits. A typical avocado contains 30 grams of fat, but 20 of these fat grams are health-promoting monounsaturated fats, especially oleic acid.
If you add the sourcream to your quac it gets worse..... -Jason

The fats in avocados are actually very useful for losing weight.
Fats are not evil. Fats are actually a very necessary component of a healthy diet. Avoiding a particular food because that food by itself is high in fat misses the point of how to build a healthy, balanced and varied diet.
Eat those avocados and enjoy them! But do so with respect to your over-all diet.

| Avocados do have a high fat content, but it is the good kind of fat. Avocados are extremely healthy and good for you. They strengthen your nails and make your shiny. They are nourishing for your body in a variety of ways. However, as with all food high in fat, eat in moderation!
