Here's the deal. I'm 5' 5" and 155 pounds as a senior in college. When I graduated high school I was coming in around 105-110 lbs. My goal weight is 115-125 lbs by December 2010. I'd like to lose some extra fat and gain muscle.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

The Zone Diet. It regulates your insulin to steady levels through out the day. Then find a CrossFit gym in your area. The inches and pounds will fall off.

Simple explanation without going in to great depth on the physiology.
Carbs trigger an insulin response. Insulin is needed to put protein in your muscle. So, eat carbs and protein together to better build muscle.
Cycle your carbs to burn fat. The body will burn carbs for fuel before it chooses to burn fat. Try reducing your carbs for two consecutive days down to 25%-30% of the meals you eat. Bring them back up to 50%-60% on day three. Low carbs forces your body to burn fat stores for fuel, but you do not want to stay on a low carb diet for more than two-three days because the body will go into starvation mode and start tearing down muscle for energy. This is the purpose of day three being high in carbs so that the body will not think it is starving.
Also, doing 20-30 minutes of cardio before breakfast is a great way to burn fat as your body has been fasting since you have been sleeping. Be sure to eat breakfast following the workout and make it the largest meal you eat for the day.
This info I just shared is the same info you will learn in an Anatomy and Physiology course in college. I learned A&P during two semesters at college. All the info is from A&P I. A&P II will go in to more depth and include hormones in the equation, but the basics are the same.

hey there,
Pull ups, push ups, bodyweight squat should be central to your training. I am a reformed power lifter and ballooned up to 262 at a height of 5"11'. Im down to 216 and looking to get to 185 ripped like crazy. Work up to 200 pull ups, 100 push ups and bw squats. jog on rest days and you'll surpass your goals. good luck.

I know that lots of people are having great success with P90X. I am going to be doing that program once I am finished with the one I'm doing now. The thing with that though is it is a tough workout and you need to stick with it to acheive your goals.

A couple of my friends are doing P90X. I have been researching it some today. Hopefully I can stick with it.
