As my weight lowers, my BMR lowers.  So, the number of calories I naturally expend in a day lowers.  As I add my new weight in metrics, will it change my BMR for that day, lowering the number of calories I am allowed to have?

Same thing for exercise, with a lower weight, the amount of calories I expend for the same exercise is lower.  I believe that this IS implemented (I accidentally put my weight in kg and wow, it said I was burning crazy calories).

Does anyone know, does lowering my weight lower my BMR?  And if not, will this be implemented?

I also noticed that my reduced weight doesn't change my BMI.

I wish I could edit my posts, instead of replying to myself.  I've determined that a decrease in weight does NOT lower the amount of calories burned from exercise as I change my weight on a daily basis using metrics.  So, BMR, BMI and Exercise Calories are all based on your initial weight and not on your current weight?

Hi, I have noticed the same problem. To fix, I go back to the first entry of weight and put my new weight in. It looks funny on the graph but it does seem to fix the problem. Also, I go back to my account and change the frequency of exercise also. When I first logged on I only exercised 2 a week, now I exercise 5 days a week so it changed my calories burned and BMR. Give it a try and hope it helps you.

Changing my fitness level changed my numbers for everyday, instead of just when I changed my habits.  Again, too bad you couldn't change part way.

Yes, changing my first weight entry changes how my exercise is calculated (although it doesn't change my BMI or BMR).  This looks like an oversight, it only makes sense that each new log entry should use that day's weight for BMI, BMR and Exercise calculations.  The calendar even shows individual day's BMI and BMR, but without using that day's weight, these stats are useless.

I hope this gets fixed real soon.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention -

It will be relatively easy to fix the BMR/BMI/Exercise calories issue - the problem is that these functions pull the most current weight entered, instead of the most current weight before the day in question. I'll get that updated and release with the next update probably next week.

I'll have to develop a method of recording historical changes to the activity level so that is taken into account by date, which will take a little more time.

Sounds great!

Once a log entry is made, it's done.  So, when the update is complete, will there be an "update" button on each day to recalculate the correct stats with the weight?  Might be nice to have anyway, in case a change is made by the user for a past date so that the numbers can be recalculated.  Otherwise, we'd have to go back and reenter exercise and weight to recalculate.

That's why this is my favourite site, I checked out dozens of them and this one has it all.

Just a thought.
