Well, I find the following helpful, but I'll add this disclaimer, my winter belly is fairly reluctant to leave me entirely this year (hence my joining this site!). In the summer I generally cut out red meat entirely, and add a cup of vegetarian chili (just a can of drained and rinsed black beans, a can of diced tomatoes, some diced onions and celery, a Tbsp of olive oil, and spices of your choice) as a meal or a snack. It fills you up and provides good fuel. I also only allow myself one cappucino or iced coffee per week, and get at least 6 hours of sleep. I can't survive in the winter on fish and chicken alone, so I tend to eat less healthy meats in the winter, and I would simply be unable to function without my cappucino in the winter. As for sleep, I get less in the winter due to school and family stuff, which I find really makes it hard to stay trim, because I have no energy and eat carbs to stay awake. This usually helps me quite a bit, and a bit of extra core work takes care of the rest. In the summer, diet green iced tea satisfactorily replaces the cappucino. Good luck!

RE: WINTER TUMMY NEEDS TO GO

I have the same goal! What I have been doing is using this website to log what I eat and any physical activity. I think the charts are really helpful to show you how many calories you take in vs. how many you get rid of. Also, it shows how many carbs, protein etc. that you take in, and looking at those graphs is encouraging and helpful! Since I'm trying to lose my very persistent belly, I'm trying to:
1.) do some form of cardio at least 4 times a week
2.) burn more calories that I take in (not by too much... again, the graphs are helpful)
3.) add more protein in my diet to build lean muscle

Hope this helps!!!

RE: WINTER TUMMY NEEDS TO GO

Take time with your goals---the best way to be successful at an exercise program is to look at it as a new lifestyle choice, not an exercise program that is here today--gone tomorrow.

With that said, here is a great ab workout, free on youtube:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=hiW0_sQPqy8

Take it at your own pace--you should never experience pain, discomfort or fatigue is ok, but never any pain.

Good luck!
http://www.workoutsondemand.com
Pascale Vandenbroucke

RE: WINTER TUMMY NEEDS TO GO

Don't go crazy! It's tempting to eat nothing bad, workout 7 days a week and think about losing weight every moment.

Do something you can do consistantly... it will take time. I love Self.com for ideas about workout ideas. They even have a SELF challange, where they'll give you tips through the month on how to do it reasonably.

GOOD LUCK!!!

WINTER TUMMY NEEDS TO GO

Summer is coming around the corner and I need to lose the tummy so when I put on that swimsuit it look good :w00t:

Please help I need the best eating and work out advice anyone? :Whistling:
