To ensure this is the case, the system sends an activation link to your email address, which you must click before you can login to use the application. Don't worry, we aren't going to sell your email address or share it with any other parties. However, we do want to have a valid method of contacting you regarding your account and eventually allow you choose from opt-in newsletters (none are available quite yet).
All communication from Online Fitness Log comes from the email address system at onlinefitnesslog dot com, so please ensure that your email spam filter isn't blocking mail from that address so that you don't miss any important communication (such as your activation link).

How come I can't find a particular food in the dropdown list?

The food dropdown list on the nutrition log entry page accepts free text entry and then searches a database of over 7000 foods from the USDA and many additional foods added by our members for a match. If you are unable to locate your food by typing the first bit of it in the dropdown, try typing another part of the food. For example say you are looking for mashed potatoes. If you type in 'mashed potatoes' you will actually get back a few results, most of which are tv dinners that include mashed potatoes. But, you are looking for homemade mashed potatoes. Try typing in just the word 'potato'. You will get a ton of results like potato chips, babyfood with potato flavor, fast foods, soup, etc. Scroll through and you're bound to find what you want (for this example, 'potatoes, mashed, home-prepared, whole milk and butter added').

If you are unable to locate your food, which is quite possible for many off-the-shelf packaged items. Simply click the icon next to the dropdown box and enter the information off the food label to create a custom food.

Can I transfer my data from another fitness tracking web site?

Yes, if you are using another site to track your fitness and that site has an export function.
